CENTER FOR GEOGRAPHIC MEDICINE RESEARCH COAST, KILIFI
Overview
The Centre for Geographic Medicine Research, Coast (CGMR(C) is responsible for conducting clinical research to understand disease epidemiology as well as undertaking clinical trials. The Centre which is based in Kilifi County is also involved in research to understand the biology of parasitic and infectious disease and the interactions between the host and pathogen.

Functions
-
(i) To conduct research in infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, and Non-Communicable diseases
(ii) Research in the divisions of Vector Biology and One-health, Parasitic and Microbial disease epidemiology, immunology and Molecular Biology
(iii) Facilitate service delivery
(iv) Initiate the development and review of the Centre’s funding strategies.;
(v) Establish partnerships and collaborations to support Centre’s operations;
(vi) Developing proposals for funding;
(vii) Linking development partners with identified strategic projects/programs;
(viii) Coordinating the Implementation of funding programs and maintaining their impact.
(ix) Research translation to policy at county and National levels
