GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASES RESEARCH DIVISION

RATIONALE

Undertake research in digestive and liver diseases and provide solutions for digestive conditions and also provide therapeutic services to study participants.

FUNCTIONS

  1. Conduct clinical trials in digestive diseases
  2. Develop clinical interventions for development of diarrheal hepatic and GI therapies
  3. Undertake research in GI cancer research and surveillance 
  4. Develop tools for early diagnosis of GI cancers
  5. Support population studies to enhance understanding of GI studies
  6. Translate laboratory, medicine and surgery into clinical interventions
  7. Collaborate with other scientists in GI disease management and control
  8. Undertake endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for management of GI diseases
