PATHOLOGY & ONCOLOGY RESEARCH

This unit integrates cancer research and laboratory diagnostics to improve cancer screening and early diagnosis.

Its primary focus is on applying laboratory sciences to advance cancer research and lead research initiatives and clinical trials in cancer therapies

By combining expertise in laboratory diagnostics with a commitment to translational research, the unit aims to accelerate the discovery of new diagnostic tools and treatment strategies. This holistic approach supports the unit’s mission to improve patient outcomes and contribute to the broader field of oncology

  1. Develop and validate early screening and diagnostic tools for effective cancer control.
  2. Evaluate tissue samples for cancer presence and provide comprehensive pathological profiles for accurate diagnosis and staging.
  3. Lead research in cancer immunology and genetics to advance understanding and treatment.
  4. Serve as a diagnostic hub and referral center for other facilities.
  5. Facilitate capacity building in pathology for improved cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  6. Conduct clinical trials to innovate cancer therapies and treatments.
  7. Engage in multidisciplinary collaborations to develop holistic solutions for cancer control, including risk factor analysis and epidemiological studies.
