RARE HONOUR AS PRESIDENT & HIS DEPUTY TOUR KEMRI

It was a rare honour for the Institute as it hosted the H.E. the President and his Deputy in a span of two days during the National Pre-Mashujaa Exhibitions in Nairobi and Kericho Counties.

It was first, the President H.E William Samoei Ruto who toured the Institute’s Exhibition stand during the first Manufacturers Expo at the COMESA grounds, KICC, Nairobi last Friday, 13^th October, 2023 where he sampled some of the Institute’s products and undertook to support the Institute with more funding to support Research and Development to meet local demand.

President Ruto who was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Health, Nakhumicha Wafula, CS Investment, Trade and Rebecca Miano, Nairobi Governor, Hon. Johnson Sakaja Director General, Ministry of Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth among other dignitaries were received by Dr. James Kimotho, Head of Innovation, Technology and Transfer Division (Click here to read more).

On Monday, 16^th October 2023, pomp and colour greeted the Deputy President H.E Rigathi Gachagua as he officially inaugurated the Biosafety Level Three Reference laboratory and the Molecular Laboratory at the KEMRI Kericho Clinical Research Centre.

The Chairman of the KEMRI Board of Directors, Dr. Abdullahi Ali and Ag. Director General, Prof. Elijah Songok warmly welcomed an elated Deputy President and his entourage that included the Health Cabinet Secretary and Kericho Counter Governor, Prof. Eric Mutahi, and his Bomet counterpart, H.E Dr. Hillary Barchok into one of the Institute’s state of the art facilities.  (Click here to Read More)
