Supply of KEMrub Sanitizers to support Community Health Works COVID-19 Contact Tracing & prevention

The Africa CDC turned to KEMrub Hand sanitizers to facilitate Community Health Workers (CHWs) involved in COVID-19 contact tracing and prevention efforts

The 2,100 Liters commodity, valued at Ksh. 1.4 million purchased by Africa CDC were delivered to the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) Kenya to be distributed to CHWs in Uganda, Malawi and Kenya under the AU Africa CDC Partnership for Accelerated (PACT) Project.

In Kenya, the sanitizers developed by the KEMRI Innovation and Technology Transfer Division targets CHWs from Nakuru, Siaya and Migori Counties. The handover and flag-off ceremonies were presided over by Africa CDC’s Dr. Isabella Ayaga, KEMRI’s Dr. James Kimotho and AMREF’s County Director, Dr. Meshack Ndirangu.
